Transcription factors that regulate oncogene promoters are proteins central to the control of gene expression in cancer. These TFs bind specific DNA sequences—often within promoter or enhancer regions of oncogenes—to modulate transcription, thereby influencing cell proliferation, survival, differentiation, and other processes critical to tumorigenesis. They act as molecular switches that turn genes on or off by binding to promoter regions upstream of target genes, activating or repressing the expression of genes involved in cancer development and progression.
