Transcription termination factor 2 (TTF2)

Target
TTF2
Molecular classification
Transcription factor, SWI2/SNF2 family protein, dsDNA-dependent ATPase
01

Overview

Transcription termination factor 2 (TTF2) is a member of the SWI2/SNF2 family and encodes a dsDNA-dependent ATPase that functions as a transcription termination factor by coupling ATP hydrolysis with the active removal of RNA polymerase II from the DNA template[1][2][6]. TTF2 interacts with proteins such as cell division cycle 5-like and is involved in pre-mRNA splicing, chromatin remodeling, and mitotic transcription repression[1][2][3][4][6]. TTF2 is essential for proper control of gene expression during development and cell cycle progression, and its genetic locus is on human chromosome 1[1][4]. No direct associations with therapeutically targeted diseases or drugs have been documented in the current sources, and no established biomarkers or safety concerns are reported as of now.
