Transcriptional adaptor 1 (TADA1)

Target
TADA1
Molecular classification
Transcription coactivator, Histone acetyltransferase complex component, Nuclear protein
01

Overview

Transcriptional adaptor 1 (TADA1) is a 335-amino acid nuclear protein, widely expressed across tissues, and is a member of the STAGA transcription coactivator–HAT complex. Its primary function is in the regulation of transcription, likely by facilitating histone acetylation and enhancing gene activation by RNA polymerase II. While TADA1 is frequently studied for its role in basic transcriptional mechanisms and is found as a fusion gene in some cancers—including lung adenocarcinoma—it is not currently considered a therapeutic target and no drugs directly interact with it. Its main significance is scientific, relating to chromatin biology and transcription regulation.
