Transfer RNA (tRNA)

Transfer RNA (tRNA) is a small, noncoding RNA molecule that plays a central role in protein synthesis. Its primary function is to act as an adaptor or "bridge" between the genetic code carried by messenger RNA (mRNA) and the amino acid sequence of proteins. During translation, tRNAs deliver specific amino acids to the ribosome, matching each mRNA codon with its corresponding amino acid via complementary base pairing between the tRNA's anticodon and the mRNA codon. Each tRNA molecule carries one specific amino acid and contains an anticodon region that recognizes particular codons on mRNA. This ensures that proteins are synthesized according to genetic instructions.
