Transforming acidic coiled-coil containing protein 3 (TACC3) is a centrosomal and mitotic spindle-associated protein crucial for cell division. It regulates microtubule dynamics and spindle assembly, preventing aneuploidy. Overexpressed in various cancers, TACC3 promotes proliferation, migration, invasion, and stemness. It is a therapeutic target, especially in tumors with centrosome amplification or FGFR-TACC fusions. High expression is found in hematopoietic tissues. Therapeutically targeting TACC3 or its interactors could selectively impair tumor cells reliant on its function for survival.
