Transforming growth factor-beta-induced protein ig-h3 (TGFBI/βig-H3) is a secreted extracellular matrix (ECM) protein that plays key roles in cell adhesion, migration, proliferation, and differentiation. Mutations in the TGFBI gene are associated with several corneal dystrophies and may contribute to other pathologies like cancer and fibrosis. It interacts with various ECM components and integrins, modulating cellular responses.
