Target intelligence / Profile preview
Transglutaminase 2 (TG2) is a multifunctional enzyme that catalyzes protein crosslinking, deamidation, and acts as a GTPase. It participates in various cellular processes including cell growth, differentiation, apoptosis, inflammation, and tissue repair. Dysregulation of TG2 is implicated in diseases such as fibrosis, cancer, neurodegenerative diseases, cardiovascular disease and celiac disease.
TG2 inhibitors block transamidation activity, GTP binding, and/or protein interactions.
