Overview

Transient receptor potential cation channel subfamily V member 2 (TRPV2) is a non-selective cation channel that is permeable to calcium and other cations. It plays key roles in cellular signaling and physiological responses, including mediating cellular responses to noxious heat (>52°C) and regulating immune cell activities such as cytokine secretion and phagocytosis via Ca²⁺ signaling. Activation can occur via high temperature, mechanical stimuli, and ligands including IGF‑1, PDGF, and neuropeptides. TRPV2 is a potential target for therapeutic intervention across inflammatory diseases and cancer microenvironments.
