TRPV4 is a Ca²⁺-permeable, nonselective cation channel involved in various physiological processes. It functions as a multifunctional cellular sensor activated by osmotic changes, mechanical stimuli, chemical ligands, and thermal changes. Dysregulation of TRPV4 is linked to skeletal dysplasias, neuropathies, and other diseases.
