Translin-associated protein X (TSNAX), also known as TRAX or C3PO, is a multifunctional protein encoded by the *TSNAX* gene in humans. TSNAX interacts with translin to form a heteromeric RNase complex—known as C3PO—that is involved in the degradation of microRNAs and activation of the RNA-induced silencing complex (RISC), processes essential for post-transcriptional gene regulation. In addition to a central role in synaptic plasticity through the relief of microRNA-mediated translational silencing, TSNAX also functions independently from translin in the nucleus as a cofactor for the ataxia-telangiectasia mutated (ATM) kinase, where it promotes DNA repair in response to double-stranded DNA breaks. It contains bipartite nuclear localization signals and may facilitate the nuclear import of its partner translin, which lacks such sequences. TSNAX has also been implicated in neuropsychiatric conditions (such as schizophrenia) and disorders of DNA repair. No approved drugs directly target TSNAX, nor are there specific safety or biomarker associations presently established[1][2][3][6].
