Translocon-associated protein subunit delta (SSR4) is a component of the translocon-associated protein (TRAP) complex, which is involved in the translocation of newly synthesized proteins across the endoplasmic reticulum (ER) membrane. SSR4 binds calcium to the ER membrane and helps regulate the retention of ER-resident proteins. Mutations in SSR4 can cause congenital disorders of glycosylation[2][4][5].
