Overview

Transmembrane epididymal protein 1 (TEDDM1) is a single-pass transmembrane protein encoded by the TEDDM1 gene and is predominantly expressed in the epididymis, with largely tissue-specific expression in reproductive tissues in both humans and mice. Its protein function remains uncharacterized, though transcriptomic and localization studies indicate a likely role in epididymal physiology or sperm maturation, as its expression increases around puberty and is responsive to androgens in animal models. TEDDM1 is not currently considered a therapeutic target, nor is it associated with known drug interactions or established disease links in the literature.
