Transmembrane phosphatase with tensin homology (TPTE)

Target
TPTE
Molecular classification
Protein Tyrosine Phosphatases (PTPs), PTEN-related, Membrane-associated enzyme
01

Overview

Transmembrane phosphatase with tensin homology (TPTE) is a primate-specific member of the protein tyrosine phosphatase (PTP) family, closely related to PTEN. While structurally similar to active PTPs, TPTE is predicted to lack catalytic activity and may function as a regulatory or scaffolding protein. It is suggested to be involved in endocrine and spermatogenic functions, although its precise role remains unclear. TPTE is a paralog of TPTE2/TPIP.

Other names
CT44PTEN2transmembrane phosphatase with tensin homology
