Transmembrane protein 273 (TMEM273), also known as C10orf128, is an integral membrane protein encoded by the TMEM273 gene. Its precise molecular function is not well characterized. TMEM273 has been identified as part of a multi-gene signature predictive of prognosis and immune infiltration patterns in lung adenocarcinoma, but no direct targetable role, enzyme activity, receptor activity, or established interaction with therapeutic agents has been described. TMEM273 is not currently considered a therapeutic target, but its mRNA expression has been used as a biomarker in risk stratification models for cancer prognosis, especially in lung adenocarcinoma[2][3][5]. There is no evidence for direct involvement in drug response, specific mechanism of action, or notable safety concerns associated with targeting TMEM273. The gene is classified as an integral membrane protein mainly by predicted structure, with limited experimental functional characterization published to date.
