Overview

Triggering receptor expressed on myeloid cells-like 5, pseudogene (TREML5P) is a non-coding genetic locus annotated as a member of the TREM (Triggering Receptor Expressed on Myeloid cells) family but classified as a **pseudogene** in humans[1]. It is also referred to as TLT5, TREM like transcript 5, TREML2P, or TREML2P1[1]. This pseudogene does not encode a functional receptor or protein, and therefore it is not a therapeutic target, has no biological function, and is not known to play any role in disease. Its inclusion in experimental or therapeutic literature would be an error, as only the four functional TREM family members—TREM-1, TREM-2, TLT1 (TREML1), and TLT2—are established as protein-coding, functional receptors[2][3].
