Overview

TRIM41 antisense RNA 1 (TRIM41-AS1) is a long non-coding RNA gene transcribed from the antisense strand near the TRIM41 locus. It does not code for a protein. Like other antisense RNAs, it may interact with complementary mRNA to influence the expression of its associated protein-coding gene, potentially acting as a regulator of gene expression at the post-transcriptional level[6][9]. There is no current evidence it is a direct therapeutic target, biomarker, or that it interacts with drugs. The general function of antisense RNAs is to modulate gene expression, sometimes acting as a "booster" for rapid protein synthesis under cellular stress, but there is no specific disease role or target validation currently available for TRIM41-AS1 in the literature[6][9]. TRIM41-AS1 is a non-coding RNA — not a protein, enzyme, receptor, or other conventional therapeutic target. Its biological role, if any, is likely as a regulator of neighboring gene (TRIM41) expression, as is common with antisense RNAs, but there is no direct evidence for drug interaction or disease role[6][9]. TRIM41 itself is an E3 ubiquitin ligase implicated in immunity and viral restriction, but this is the protein product and not the antisense RNA[1][2][4][6].
