Target intelligence / Profile preview
Triosephosphate isomerase 1 pseudogene 1 (TPI1P1) is a processed pseudogene, highly homologous to the functional triosephosphate isomerase 1 (TPI1) gene, but contains mutations that prevent it from producing an active enzyme[3]. Pseudogenes like TPI1P1 may arise via gene duplication or retrotransposition but lose protein-coding capability due to frameshifts or premature stop codons[2][3]. TPI1P1 does not serve a known molecular or pharmacological function and is not considered a therapeutic or diagnostic target.
