Target intelligence / Profile preview
Tripartite motif containing 49D1 (TRIM49D1) is part of the tripartite motif (TRIM) family of proteins, which generally function as E3 ubiquitin ligases, playing roles in protein ubiquitination and diverse cellular processes such as innate immunity and regulation of gene expression[1][2][3]. The gene TRIM49D1 is predicted to enable ubiquitin protein ligase activity and to participate in the innate immune response and gene expression regulation, though direct experimental evidence for these functions is lacking[2][3]. Multiple aliases and identifiers exist, and the gene is closely related to other TRIM49 family members. TRIM49D1 is predicted to localize to the cytoplasm. Current evidence suggests it may encode a pseudogene, and there is no experimental support for its direct role as a therapeutic target, nor are there known drugs or disease associations specifically for TRIM49D1[2][3][4][5]. TRIM49D1 is often annotated as a pseudogene or a gene product with only predicted, not confirmed, functional annotations. No structure, disease involvement, or therapeutic targeting information has been reported for TRIM49D1 specifically. General TRIM proteins (not specifically TRIM49D1) act as E3 ubiquitin ligases with roles in ubiquitination, immune function, and gene regulation, but TRIM49D1 lacks functional evidence for these roles. This makes TRIM49D1 not currently considered a validated molecular target for drugs or diagnostics, and entry as a therapeutic target is considered incorrect based on current evidence.
