Overview

Tripartite motif containing 60 pseudogene 19 (TRIM60P19) is a sequence in the human genome classified as a pseudogene, meaning it is a non-functional copy of the tripartite motif-containing 60 (TRIM60) gene. Pseudogenes do not encode functional proteins, but in some cases may produce noncoding RNAs with potential regulatory activity. There are no reports of TRIM60P19 being transcribed, functional, or involved as a therapeutic target, nor is it implicated in any disease as an actionable biomarker or drug target[1][3]. Pseudogenes in general can sometimes regulate their parent gene or related pathways via mechanisms such as RNA interference or acting as competitive endogenous RNAs, but this has not been demonstrated for TRIM60P19[2].
