Tripartite motif containing 64D, pseudogene (TRIM64DP)

Target
TRIM64DP
Molecular classification
Other (Pseudogene), Tripartite motif containing family (TRIM superfamily, as related to its ancestors)
01

Overview

Tripartite motif containing 64D, pseudogene (TRIM64DP) is a genetic locus classified as a pseudogene within the tripartite motif (TRIM) family; it does not encode a functional protein product. Pseudogenes are segments of DNA that resemble functional genes but contain disabling mutations or regulatory changes so that their protein product is not expressed. Although some pseudogenes have been shown to regulate their protein-coding ancestral genes through non-coding RNA effects or microRNA decoy functions, there is currently no evidence that TRIM64DP has such biological activity. It is not involved in signal transduction, cellular processes, or known diseases and does not interact with drugs or serve as a biomarker.

Other names
Tripartite motif containing 64B pseudogeneTRIM64DP
02

Mechanism of action

None (No mechanism of action applies for drugs, as it is not targeted)

03

Biological functions

Other (No established biological function; pseudogenes may have regulatory RNA effects but TRIM64DP itself has no demonstrated role)
04

Disease associations

Other (No recognized disease association for TRIM64DP; TRIM family members can play significant roles in cancer, neurodegenerative diseases, and immunity, but as a pseudogene, TRIM64DP has no established disease involvement)
