Pseudogenes like TRIM75P are remnants of ancestral genes that have lost the ability to encode functional proteins, usually due to disabling mutations or transcriptional silencing. While some pseudogenes in the genome have demonstrated regulatory potential by acting as decoys for microRNAs or generating regulatory RNAs, most—including TRIM75P—are not known to participate in such mechanisms and are not considered therapeutic targets or disease biomarkers[2][3][7].
