Tripartite Motif-Containing Protein 42 (TRIM42)

Target
TRIM42
Molecular classification
Tripartite Motif-Containing Protein, Ubiquitin Protein Ligase
01

Overview

The TRIM42 protein is a member of the tripartite motif-containing family, which includes three zinc-binding domains (RING, B-box type 1, and B-box type 2) and a coiled-coil region. It is predicted to enable ubiquitin protein ligase activity and is involved in protein ubiquitination. TRIM42 is associated with diseases such as astigmatism and wrinkly skin syndrome, and it has a paralog in TRIM27. Despite its role in ubiquitination, its specific therapeutic applications or interactions with drugs are not well-documented in the available literature.
