Tripartite motif-containing protein 43B is a predicted human protein belonging to the TRIM (tripartite motif-containing) family, characterized by RING, B-box, and coiled-coil domains. It is thought to function as a ubiquitin protein ligase (E3 ligase), influencing protein ubiquitination and regulation of gene expression, and is predicted to be involved in the innate immune response. Its biological activity is poorly characterized, and there is little evidence supporting its role as a drug target or in established drug mechanisms. Paralogs in mouse, such as Trim43a-c, are highly expressed during early preimplantation embryonic development, suggesting possible developmental functions in mammals. Limited evidence links TRIM43B to disease, with some associations to high grade glioma, but no validated role as a therapeutic target or biomarker exists.
