Overview

Tripartite motif-containing protein 49 (TRIM49) is a human protein coded by the TRIM49 gene, which includes a RING zinc finger, B-box, and coiled-coil motifs typical of the TRIM family. These structural features are involved in protein-protein interactions and possibly E3 ubiquitin ligase activity. TRIM49 is preferentially expressed in testis and may have a role in related biological processes. While some disease associations such as Zika Virus Congenital Syndrome have been cited, its function and biological significance are not fully established, and it is not currently regarded as a therapeutic target or clinically actionable biomarker[1][3][4][7][9].
