Tripartite motif-containing protein 59 (TRIM59) is a member of the TRIM protein family, characterized by a RING finger, B-box motif(s), and coiled-coil domains. It functions primarily as an E3 ubiquitin ligase, regulating protein turnover through ubiquitination. TRIM59 is involved in diverse biological processes, including cell cycle regulation, proliferation, migration and invasion, innate immunity, and autophagy. Clinically, TRIM59 has been identified as an oncogene that is expressed at higher levels in various cancers, including non-small cell lung cancer, where its upregulation is correlated with poorer patient prognosis. TRIM59 also interacts with key signaling pathways such as NF-κB and PI3K/AKT, modulating cellular responses relevant to tumorigenesis and inflammation. Due to its functional significance and differential expression in cancer, TRIM59 is considered both a potential biomarker and a putative therapeutic target, although no approved drugs currently target TRIM59 directly[1][2][3].
