Overview

Tripartite motif-containing protein 64 (TRIM64) is a member of the TRIM family characterized by the RBCC motif, which consists of a RING finger, one or two B-box zinc fingers, and a coiled-coil domain[1][3][5]. Most TRIM proteins act as E3 ubiquitin ligases, regulating protein stability and cellular signaling. TRIM64 is predicted to have ubiquitin-ligase activity and may play roles in the innate immune response by analogy to its family members, although its detailed function is not well-characterized. TRIM family proteins in general are important for pathogen-resistance, innate immunity, and regulation of transcriptional pathways in host defense[1][3][5]. There is currently no strong evidence for TRIM64 as a therapeutic target or a widely used disease biomarker.
