Queuine tRNA-ribosyltransferase (TGT) is an enzyme that catalyzes the exchange of a guanine base with queuine at position 34 (the anticodon wobble position) in specific transfer RNAs (tRNAs). This modification results in the formation of the hypermodified nucleoside queuosine within these tRNAs. It plays a role in modulating codon recognition and protein synthesis fidelity. Altered expression of TGT subunits has been linked to cancer.
