tRNA methyltransferase subunit 11-2 pseudogene 6 (TRMT112P6) is a human pseudogene—a nonfunctional segment of DNA that closely resembles the protein-coding gene TRMT112 but contains mutations or truncations that preclude production of a functional protein. Unlike its protein-coding counterpart, TRMT112, which acts as an activator for several tRNA and protein methyltransferases, the pseudogene form lacks known biological activity and is not considered a relevant target in therapeutics or molecular biology. Pseudogenes are typically remnants of evolutionary duplication and mutation, and while some may have regulatory RNA roles, there is no evidence that TRMT112P6 has such functions.
