tRNA splicing endonuclease subunit 2 pseudogene 1 (TSEN2P1) is classified as a pseudogene that is related by sequence to the functional TSEN2 gene, which encodes a subunit of the tRNA splicing endonuclease complex involved in the removal of introns from precursor tRNAs[1][6]. However, TSEN2P1 itself does not code for a functional protein and thus does not have a direct role in known biological pathways or disease mechanisms, nor is it considered a drug target. The functional TSEN2 gene is involved in RNA processing and associated with conditions such as pontocerebellar hypoplasia, but the pseudogene TSEN2P1 does not appear to play such roles and is not therapeutically relevant[1][6].
