Overview

Trophoblast glycoprotein-like (TPBGL) is a predicted membrane-associated protein encoded by the TPBGL gene in humans and other species[2][4][8]. It is primarily thought to be involved in the negative regulation of the canonical Wnt signaling pathway and binds carbohydrate derivatives and cytoskeletal proteins[2][5][6]. TPBGL shows expression across multiple tissue types and is detected in various regions including the ovary and placenta[4]. There is limited direct evidence for its characterization as a therapeutic target, receptor, enzyme, or transporter, and no approved or known drugs are listed as interacting with it[2][6][7][8]. The gene is associated with ovarian endometrioid stromal sarcoma and ovary sarcoma in genetic association databases, but its biological and clinical roles remain insufficiently defined to classify it as a validated target for therapy[2].
