Overview

Tropomyosin 3 pseudogene 6 (TPM3P6) is a human pseudogene derived from the functional tropomyosin 3 (TPM3) gene. TPM3P6 does not encode a functional protein and does not serve as a direct therapeutic target. Pseudogenes like TPM3P6 are commonly found in the human genome; some exhibit regulatory activities at the RNA level, but there are no specific reports of TPM3P6 performing such functions. Functionally, its parental gene TPM3 encodes proteins that regulate actin filament stability and muscle contraction, and has known disease associations, but these are not attributed to TPM3P6 itself.
