Tropomyosin receptor kinase C (TrkC), also known as NT-3 growth factor receptor, neurotrophic tyrosine kinase receptor type 3, or TrkC tyrosine kinase, is a transmembrane protein encoded by the *NTRK3* gene in humans. It belongs to the family of tropomyosin receptor kinases (TrkA, TrkB, and TrkC), which are part of the larger group of receptor tyrosine kinases. TrkC is the high-affinity catalytic receptor for neurotrophin-3 (NT-3) and plays an essential role in nervous system development and function. Alterations in TrkC expression or function have been linked to several diseases, including neurodegenerative diseases and cancer.
