Overview

TSKU antisense RNA 1 (TSKU-AS1) is a gene that encodes a long non-coding RNA (lncRNA) in humans[7]. It is classified as a natural antisense transcript, meaning it is transcribed from the strand opposite to the TSKU gene and may have regulatory effects on its sense counterpart or nearby genes. As with many lncRNAs and antisense RNAs, it may regulate gene expression through complementary base pairing, possibly affecting transcription, RNA stability, or epigenetic state. However, there are no published data confirming a specific biological function, disease association, or therapeutic application for TSKU-AS1 at this time[7]. Most of what is known comes from the broader study of lncRNAs and antisense transcripts, which are known to participate in gene silencing, activation, and epigenetic regulation, and have roles—sometimes pathogenic—in cancer and other diseases[2][4][5]. TSKU-AS1 itself is currently not considered a characterized or validated therapeutic target. If TSKU-AS1 becomes linked to clear biological or disease functions, these fields should be updated accordingly.
