TUB antisense RNA 1 (TUB-AS1) is a putative long noncoding RNA transcribed from the antisense strand of the TUB gene locus. Antisense RNAs are generally involved in post-transcriptional or epigenetic regulation by interacting with their sense gene counterparts, affecting mRNA stability, translation, or chromatin state. Although many antisense lncRNAs are important in gene regulation and can be involved in disease mechanisms, there is no published evidence that TUB-AS1 itself has a defined molecular function, classification, or therapeutic relevance. The absence of information suggests that the molecule may be poorly characterized, not widely recognized, or incorrectly designated.
