Target intelligence / Profile preview
TUBA3GP represents a non-functional pseudogene related to the alpha-tubulin gene family. Pseudogenes are DNA segments that resemble genes but typically lack coding capacity due to mutations or truncations and, as such, do not produce functional proteins. TUBA3GP does not encode a protein product and is not implicated in the main biological processes, molecular pathways, or diseases directly attributable to tubulin function. Tubulin family proteins (including alpha- and beta-tubulin) are critical constituents of microtubules involved in cell structure, intracellular transport, and cell division, but pseudogenes like TUBA3GP are not actively involved in these cellular roles[5]. TUBA3GP should not be confused with functional alpha-tubulin genes or considered a therapeutic target. In summary, TUBA3GP is a pseudogene, classified as non-coding, and is not a therapeutic molecular target.
