Target intelligence / Profile preview
Tubulin beta 2B class IIb pseudogene 1 (TUBB2BP1) is a non-protein-coding pseudogene related to the tubulin beta 2B class IIb gene. While the parent gene TUBB2B encodes the beta-tubulin protein, which is a key component of microtubules involved in cellular structure and neuronal development[2][4][6], TUBB2BP1 is a pseudogene and does not encode a functional protein. Pseudogenes are generally regarded as non-targets in drug discovery and therapeutic applications unless specific regulatory functions are demonstrated[3][5][7]. Occasionally, pseudogenes may act as regulatory RNAs or microRNA decoys, but there is currently no evidence indicating a functional role for TUBB2BP1 in disease or drug response[3][7].
