Tubulin beta 2C pseudogene is a non-functional copy of the tubulin beta 2C gene, existing as a DNA sequence resembling the coding gene but lacking the ability to encode a full-length, functional tubulin protein. Tubulin beta 2C is a member of the tubulin superfamily, which encodes proteins crucial for the formation of microtubules—a fundamental component of the cytoskeleton involved in cell division, structure, and intracellular transport. The pseudogene does not participate in these cellular processes, and while some pseudogenes can exert regulatory effects at the RNA level, there is no well-established role for tubulin beta 2C pseudogene in human health or disease.
