Target intelligence / Profile preview
Tubulin beta-4A chain is a protein encoded by the *TUBB4A* gene and is a member of the tubulin family, which forms microtubules—key structural components of the cytoskeleton. It plays critical roles in cell shape, intracellular transport, cell division, neuronal migration, and myelination, particularly in the central nervous system. Mutations in *TUBB4A* are linked to several neurological disorders, including hypomyelination syndromes and dystonia.
