Tubulin beta chain, class I is a major cytoskeletal protein that forms heterodimers with alpha-tubulin to assemble microtubules, which are essential for cell division, structural integrity, intracellular trafficking, and other key cellular processes. As a core structural component, beta-tubulin class I is expressed in a variety of tissues and is notably implicated in cancer, where its altered expression can mediate drug resistance. It is directly targeted by a spectrum of chemotherapy agents that disrupt or stabilize microtubule dynamics, making it one of the best-characterized molecular targets in cell biology and pharmacology[3][4][5][6][7].
