Target intelligence / Profile preview
Tubulin beta class I pseudogene 8 (TUBBP8) is a non-coding genomic element classified as a pseudogene. Unlike its protein-coding relatives in the beta-tubulin family, TUBBP8 contains sequence homology to tubulin genes but is rendered non-functional through accumulated mutations or loss of regulatory capacity. There is no evidence that TUBBP8 encodes a protein product or is transcribed with biological significance in human tissues. Pseudogenes such as TUBBP8 are commonly annotated in the genome but are not considered drug targets and do not participate in regular cellular or physiological pathways[3][6][8].
