Target intelligence / Profile preview
Tubulin beta pseudogene 2 (TUBBP2) is classified as a pseudogene—a segment of DNA that resembles a functional tubulin beta gene but contains mutations or structural features (such as lack of transcription, nonsense mutations, frameshifts, or intron loss) that prevent it from being expressed as a functional protein[1][7]. Pseudogenes like TUBBP2 do not produce a protein product and are not known to have canonical biological or pharmacological roles. As such, TUBBP2 is not considered a therapeutic target and would not be the focus of drug development or diagnostic biomarker efforts[7].
