Tubulin polymerization at the colchicine site refers to the process by which tubulin assembles into microtubules at a specific binding pocket known as the colchicine site. This site is targeted by various small molecules (notably colchicine and its analogs) that inhibit tubulin assembly, thereby destabilizing microtubules and disrupting cellular processes such as mitosis.
