This modification affects microtubule dynamics and stability, influencing diverse cellular functions, including cell division, intracellular transport, and the formation of specialized structures such as cilia and flagella[2][3]. Dysfunction in tubulin polyglutamylases and related tubulin modifications is linked to cancer progression and neurodevelopmental disorders due to abnormal microtubule regulation[1][2]. TTLL13 is structurally related to other TTLL family enzymes and contains characteristic ATP-grasp domains that facilitate its catalytic activity[1][3].
