Tumor antigen-presenting dendritic cells (DCs) are a specialized subset of immune cells that play a central role in initiating and regulating anti-tumor immune responses. As professional antigen-presenting cells (APCs), DCs capture, process, and present tumor-associated antigens to T lymphocytes, particularly cytotoxic CD8+ T cells, thereby orchestrating both innate and adaptive immunity against cancer. Their effectiveness depends on subset composition/functionality within the tissue context—and they remain a major focus for next-generation cancer immunotherapies aiming at durable clinical benefit through enhanced antigen presentation pathways.
