A tumor-associated antigen (TAA) that is HLA-A2 restricted refers to a peptide or protein fragment derived from a tumor cell that is presented on the cell surface in complex with the human leukocyte antigen A2 (HLA-A2). These antigens are recognized by cytotoxic T lymphocytes (CTLs) only when presented in the context of HLA-A2, enabling targeted immune responses against tumor cells expressing both the antigen and HLA-A2. Examples include peptides derived from proteins such as MUC1, heparanase (Hpa), TAL6, and STEAP1.
