Tumor-associated antigen GM2 (GM2)

Target
GM2
Molecular classification
Ganglioside, Glycosphingolipid, Tumor-associated antigen (TAA)
01

Overview

Tumor-associated antigen GM2 is a membrane glycolipid highly expressed across several aggressive cancers but minimally present on healthy tissue. It plays critical roles in promoting tumor progression through enhanced migration/invasion capabilities, angiogenesis induction, immune evasion mechanisms, and modulation of key signaling pathways. Targeted immunotherapies—including monoclonal antibodies and CAR-T technologies—are under investigation due to the favorable expression profile and functional importance of this molecule within the tumor microenvironment.
