A tumor-associated antigen presented by HLA-A2, HLA-A3, or HLA-A11 refers to any peptide derived from tumor proteins that are displayed on the cell surface by one of these human leukocyte antigen (HLA) class I molecules. These complexes are recognized by cytotoxic CD8+ T cells, enabling targeted immune responses against tumor cells expressing these antigens. The actual identity of the antigen may differ widely; examples of such antigens (for HLA-A2 or HLA-A3) include MAGE-A3, beta-tubulin 5, CEA, HER-2/neu, and others[1][4][6]. Successfully targeting such antigens forms the basis of various immunotherapeutic strategies, including peptide vaccines and adoptive T cell therapies.
