Tumor-associated Antigen Recognized by m170 Monoclonal Antibody

Molecular classification
Cell surface antigen
01

Overview

The tumor-associated antigen recognized by the m170 monoclonal antibody is a cell-surface molecule expressed on adenocarcinomas, including prostate and breast cancer cells. While the precise molecular identity remains unspecified at the gene/protein level, its expression enables targeted delivery of therapeutic agents or radioisotopes to tumor cells for imaging and treatment. Radiolabeled m170 has been used in clinical trials for radioimmunotherapy, demonstrating specific localization to metastatic sites with manageable toxicity profiles. Combining radioimmunotherapy using m170 with chemotherapeutic agents such as paclitaxel can enhance efficacy but may increase hematologic toxicity.
