Tumor-associated antigens (TAAs) are molecules produced by tumor cells that can be recognized by the immune system. Innate immune activation plays a pivotal role in initiating and shaping adaptive responses against these antigens. When tumors undergo stress, injury, or cell death, they release molecular patterns that activate innate immune sensors, leading to the recruitment and activation of antigen-presenting cells (APCs), which then present TAAs to T cells and stimulate adaptive immunity.
