Overview
A tumor cell is an abnormal cell that has undergone genetic and epigenetic changes, resulting in uncontrolled growth and division. These cells can form masses known as tumors (neoplasms), which may be benign (non-cancerous) or malignant (cancerous). Malignant tumor cells are the hallmark of cancer and possess unique characteristics that distinguish them from normal, healthy cells. They exhibit uncontrolled proliferation, resistance to cell death, and the ability to invade and metastasize.
